Talk about something girly, flirty, fun, and adds a little character to any wardrobe. This season, opt for a more unique gift for yourself or someone you love, and get a ruffle handbag. My sister bought one from Aldo and she gets compliments on her handbag ALL THE TIME! So much that I wanted one myself and she was nice enough to buy me one for my birthday. The great thing about this bag is that it adds a lot of texture and flair and you don't have to worry about sporting an expensive brand name in order to make a big impression. The price range anywhere from $15-$300 and on up. So there is something for everyone on every budget.
Men’s Winter Fashions 2009: Winter Accessories

Guys, don't be afraid to have a little fun with your wardrobe while staying warm this winter. Winter accessories add extra flair and are completely functional. There are a lot of guys I know that are too afraid to try out scarves. In my opinion, men look more sophisticated and stylish when a scarf is involved. It kind of gives you that "model" look. But if you're more of a rough kind of guy, there are plenty of other accessories you should try out this season. Here are my top 3.
Scarves
Lemme just start off with the scarves because I love them so much. I mean, how could you not? It keeps you warm, first of all. If you're ever caught wearing a light jacket in the wintertime, wearing a scarf totally warms your whole body up. So, functional? Check. If you're worried about standing out too much with a scarf, you can always opt for a gray scarf to blend in. However, if you're any of my crazy friends, and you want to stand out, play with color and patterns! Say you're wearing your usual black pants and white collared shirt to work. Then BAM! You top it off with a red scarf or maybe a scarf with a checkered pattern that has many colors on it to compliment many outfits. Instantly more stylish. Or let's say you're in your work clothes with your wool coat and then BAM! You top it off with a faux fur brown scarf for added texture. I think sporting the faux fur scarf is uber sophisticated. I will say only mature men can really pull off the look. And you might need to hold a cigar and some scotch to really have the look down. Whatever your case is, there is a scarf out there for everyone and it looks good on everyone. And if you're STILL too afraid to try, it makes a great gift for Christmas. Buy a scarf for your friend, father in law, or a co-worker/boss for extra bonus points.
Beanies
So, you're not a scarf kind of guy huh? Or maybe you're a scarf kind of guy AND a beanie kind of guy. I will have to say, unlike scarves, not everyone can pull off a beanie. Sometimes our heads are shaped a little weird and it just ends up looking like you're wearing it ONLY to stay warm. Which is fine. But next time you go to buy a new beanie, just consider your options. Straight basic beanies that hug your head like a glove, usually look better on guys with very defined features. A strong jaw line or an angular face. If you have a round face, your head and face will end up looking like a crystal ball if you sport the basic beanie. Not cute. If this is the case, try an over-sized beanie that bring the eyes up and elongates your face. If you have a round face, don't go for the over-sized beanie with the pom pom at the end. We want to avoid having too many circles. Over-sized beanies look great on many face shapes and again, are great stocking stuffers for Christmas. Try these on for size:
Gloves
Then there is something for eveyrone. I don't think I know anyone who is opposed to wearing gloves. This winter accessory definitely makes a great gift for dad or brother. Especially since year after year, it gets harder to know what to get your family. Assume they are in the market for new gloves. There are different types and styles to choose from. Is your father or brother more of a leather glove kind of guy? Leather gloves are more sleek, stylish, and sophisticated. If you want to portray that look, but be more eco conscious, try faux leather gloves. They are harder to find, but they are definitely out there. Or, if you're like my dad and it's just important to keep your hands ultra warm, go for a woven glove. This season, I may also introduce to him the cuff glove so he can extend the warmth of his glove up his arms. Whatever the case, here are a few of my favorites for you or a gift for the ones you love:
Top 3 High Tech Fashion Accessories - MUST HAVE!

OMG, OMG! I am lovin all of this technology meets fashion stuff! If you are looking to get your significant other something fun, high tech, and fashionable for Christmas, you must look into these accessories! Now, in no way shape or form are these accessories cheap. They are the latest in technology and meant to be very impressive. So, without further adieu, in no particular order, I give you this season top 3 high tech fashion accessory - MUST HAVES!
Calvin Klein USB Memory Frame
I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS loose my USB memory stick. I'm glad that saving files has gone from a big floppy disk to a small stick, but sometimes, it's just too small. I end up having to buy them over and over again. What I do know is, when I purchase a nice pair of sunglasses, those babies are with me always. They're either in my car or I carry it around in my purse. Apparently, I'm not the only fashionista with this dilemma. So, they've come up with a pair of sunglasses where you can detach the frame and it turns into a USB stick. How cool is that? It's great for students and professionals alike. You can hide your serious business self in a pair of sleek sunglasses. And, it's valued at about $200, so it's not cheap, but it's not any different than buying a nice pair of designer glasses. I love it!
The Orb Bluetooth
I am already in love with jewelry. I have a jewelry armoire that is literally busting at the seams. I'm also loving the bluetooth. It's convenient and necessary. I've even seen woman wear their bluetooths like jewelry by covering it in rhinestones. Well, this marriage of fashion and technology is clever. Probably one of my favorites that I've found. It's a bluetooth that doubles as a ring. If you're not into having a bluetooth glued to your ear all day (I most certainly am not), you simply twist the piece into a ring and wear it as a sleek piece of jewelry. Brilliant! Not only is it clever, it also provides high quality bone conduction audio. AND, if you're into the bling bling, they are going to come out with special editions with gemstones on it. You'll have to pre-order this item, because it's not coming out til January 2010. If someone pre-ordered this for me for Christmas, I would say it would be worth the wait! Depending on the model you buy, plan on spending anywhere form $129 - $175.
Vivienne Tam Digital Clutch Computer
I would have LOVED one of these in design school. It seems like such a simple concept and I can't believe it just now is coming out. Designer Vivienne Tam has blown up with these designer digital computer laptops that basically look like clutches. They are colorful, girly, and I want one. If you were looking to get your girlfriend a laptop this year, consider getting her something she can wear to spice up any outfit! It's small and light weight so you can take it with you everywhere. It's definitely a high tech piece with lots of style and the price isn't bad. If you're in the market for a laptop, you're probably looking to spend at least $500 for a regular PC. Well, a Vivienne Tam will fall into that range and can go even cheaper on ebay. I would just love to buy a used one of these for like $350 or so and take it with me to coffee shops so I wouldn't have to use my lug around my 15" laptop.
2009 Winter Trends: Grey Sweater Dresses

This is a situation where trend meets classic. The look is sophisticated, flattering, perfect for every occasion and, who doesn't look good in grey? This winter, keep cozy and classy with a cowl neck sweater dress, or go for something more figure flattering like a grey sweater wrap dress. Pair the dress with leggings for extra warmth for a daytime/work look, or with patterned tights for a more flirty evening out ensemble. Since a lot of sweater dresses are cowl neck, don't bother with chunky necklaces. Instead, show off your chunky bracelets. You can use the bracelets to show off more texture (chunky wooden bangle
), color (maybe a red crystal bangle
), or character (patterned cuff
). Now, I suggest these because I've always liked chunky bangles and cuffs, but I can never find one that looks good on me because my wrists are too small. Most of the time it ends up looking like I'm a 5 year old wearing my mom's jewelry. If this is the case with you, try adding color with a scarf or a belt. A grey sweater dress is such a nice neutral base, it will go with practically everything.
So hope on the 2009 Winter Trend and try on some of my favorite sweater dresses:
