How to Dress like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Love them or hate them, you just can't seem to get enough of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. From the cars, to the palatial homes and all the upscale fashion in between, it's hard not to feel a little envious. Enter Style With Anna. I'll show you how to get the look of a housewife, but without all the drama. This post will give you a general idea of what you should be searching for when you're out shopping with your girlfriends. Basically, some key elements that say "Housewife of Beverly Hills".
Up the Bling
Besides that camera filter that they use when filming the show that makes everything feel dreaming and sparkly, these housewives are no stranger to the bling. While they may be shopping at Harry Winston or some overpriced jewelry boutique, diamonds are actually not that rare, hard to find, or even that expensive. A great way to get the same look of a diamond without the price tag is to look into man made diamonds. A well known synthetic diamond is the cubic zirconium. But technology has come a long way since then.
Now a days, synthetic, lab created, simulate diamonds are done so well, the only way you can tell is if someone did a test on it. The cut, color and clarity is all comparable to the highest quality diamond and emits the same amount of bling. A great way to get a really nice piece of jewelry for a fraction of the price. If you're just going through a "I want to dress like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" phase, you can look into any kind of cheap bling from stores like Forever21 or H&M to get the same look. Just make sure you sparkle and don't be afraid to be over the top! Here are a few of my favorite things to bling in:
Take Care of the Hair
Whether your hair is curly, wavy, or straight, make sure it's healthy and it shines! Kyle's hair in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is just long and straight. But seriously, that girl looks like she is in a Pantene Pro V commercial. It really shows that you take care of yourself and you have nice rich shiny locks. Wherever you go, whether you're going out to dinner or if you're just going to the bank, make sure to not just throw your hair up in a ponytail. Take some time out to give it a little style, a little spray, a little product to give off the look like maybe you have a personal hairstylist. Because that is very LA! Here are some inexpensive hair products that can really make a difference:
Take Yourself to New Heights!
Ladies, you thought you couldn't wear heels before? Well you better start getting used to them if you want to learn how to dress like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills! Those women are not afraid of heights and it shows with their footwear! Platforms! Platforms! Platforms! You know, since the heels are platforms, they really are not that hard to walk in at all! You can add several inches to yourself and still be...well, as comfortable as you can be in heels. Don't be afraid to wear shoes that are ornate, blingy and very high.
I suggest getting to know your shoes. I like to know my shoes by how many hours I can wear each one before I start walking like a horse with broken legs because my feet hurt so bad. If you're just going to a dinner or somewhere where there will be more sitting and standing than long walks, put on the heels and let them be the main player to your ensemble. You'll be sure to turn heads! For my favorites selection of platforms, I am going to be mixing lower end but equally cute shoes with higher end brand named shoes. Sometimes you need to treat yourself to something extra special:
